The First School
A social project for the Italian primary school
The First School is a project that aims to bring the quality of the Italian public primary school to the center of national issues.
It’s not an easy task, due to the progressive reduction of awareness of the crucial role which the public school plays for our sons and daughters.
For this reason the First School works on more layers.
The main purpose is to finance artistic and pedagogic projects in the primary schools. In a period of huge social spending cuts to the public educational system, we started a fund-raising to find the necessary resources to finance lots of projects in more than one city.
All information about the First School is available on this page or on the official blog of the project (only Italian language): laprimascuola.wordpress.com.
The First School would also like to be a free space to talk about single schools and suburbs or little towns. We’ll do little inquiries, but we hope to receive also news from those who work in the education system, who are often forgotten by mainstream media.
The First School takes inspiration from an idea by Andrea Segre, which he had during the making of “The First Snowfall”. Despite the fact that the movie doesn’t deal with the public education, there are many related issues to the First School. The partnership between the movie and the project can be a powerful mean to talk about education. Jolefilm and Parthénos strongly support the project.
