Asylum Right
This section hosts several testimonies collected by ZaLab while documenting the odyssey of migration, from the departure from the Horn of Africa, to Central and West Africa, to the crossing of the desert; from the encounter with Libyan police to imprisonment and deportation, from embarkation to push backs by the Italian and Libyan army, from the landing in Italy to the “welcoming” in the identification and expulsion centres (C.I.E) or in the reception and asylum seekers centres (C.A.R.A). Zongo and Abraham, also starring in The green blood, offer a first person narrative of the abuses and violence they suffered from Libyan police and of their difficult journey to Lampedusa. Moreover, ZaLab contributed to the campaign “Libya I don't push back” for the protection of refugees civil rights in Libya, promoted by ZaLab with Amnesty International, Fortress Europe, Consiglio Italiano Rifugiati a Tripoli, Agenzia Habeshia: Since May 2009 Italy has pushed back to Libya hundreds of refugees from the Horn of Africa. More than two thousands have been blocked by the Libyan war with no chance to be protected.

Like a man on earth
A journey of sorrow and dignity, through which voice is given to the almost impossible memory of human sufferings, for which Italy and Europe must be held responsible, as they cannot hide them for long.
