“My Place is Here (Io Resto)” by Michele Aiello in selection at the Biografilm Festival 17th edition
After the international selection and the world premiere at the 52nd edition of Vision du réel – the famous documentary film festival in Nyon (Switzerland), My Place is Here (Io Resto), the second feature film by Michele Aiello, has been selected for his Italian première at the Biografilm Festival 17th edition, in the section Biografilm Italia to be held from 4 to 14 June in Bologna and online on MyMovies.
The premiere will be held on 4 June at 6.00 pm at the Cinema Medica Palace in Bologna. Tickets are available at the link.
My Place is Here (Io Resto) is the only feature documentary entirely filmed inside an Italian hospital during the first pandemic peak of Covid-19.
A video camera exceptionally accesses the wards of the public hospital of one of the cities that is dramatically suffering the first pandemic peak of Covid-19.
It is a delicate exercise of observation that respectfully grasps the establishment of the unprecedented and indispensable relationships between patients and healthcare staff, which are permeated with an extreme common need for human warmth.
Even if it is painful at times, the film empathises with sick people’s fears and with the professional and heartfelt dedication of doctors and nurses, remaining in an intimate dimension, far removed from voyeurism, from heroic apology or from the usual anxiety-inducing media representation.
