ZaLab at Media Meets Literacy in Sarajevo

On the 21st and 22nd of September Sarajevo will host the international meeting Media Meets Literacy organized by Evens Media Foundation.

The meeting will be an appointment for media professionals from all over the Europe and will be focused on two aspects: the role that media have in our society and a responsible use of new technologies and mass media comunication.

ZaLab will be there to receive the “Evens Foundation Prize for Media Education 2017“, assigned for the project called “Otherness”.

Thanks to the support of Evens Foundation and to the collaboration of Apollo 11, ZaLab will realize the Flyin Roots laboratory: a project of social cinema that will take place in the Esquilino neighborhood and in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, a symbolic place for the multiculturalism in Rome.

The aim of this project  will be the construction of a creative space of active participation, dedicated to teenagers from 12 to 19 yo, in particular second generations.

The participatory video technique, that will involve the students personally, represents the strenght of this project, and will stimulate the development of a critical and authorial thinking, both on the narrative and creative side, both on the political and social one.
