God was a musician
Stories and daily life of the musicians participating to the project MusicRekk (first project of music production according to the priciples of fair-trade commerce) join up between Dakar and Somone, between Brufut and M’bour: Senegal Capital hip pop meets Ismael melodic raggae on the coasts of Gambia; zykrs on the roofs of Parcelle Assainié and in the holy town of Touba run after Guinea drums of Master Pakata and the Kora of the old griot Cissoko…where music experienced everyday, with energy and exertion, tells yet another side of Africa, not the one of sorrow and compassion, but the one concerning its complex spirituality, the intertwining of tradition and modernity, of the encounter among different cultures.
This story was conceived and realized by authors and directors through the language of the Cinema of the Real.
