IL RACCONTO DEL REALE (How to tell reality?)
Il Racconto del reale (How to tell reality) has been a workshop of documentary film (introduction and practice) realized by toniCorti and ZaLab, with the method of participatory video.
The training consisted in thematic meetings on writing, inquiry, photography, filming, editing, post-production and in the practice of different styles of video-making.
Through the lab’s work, we aimed to narrate our local realities form unusual perspectives. In the six months between January and July 2013, il Racconto del Reale (first edition) had the students involved in 100 hours of classroom training, 100 hours of laboratory and 100 hours of tutoring. This led to the creation of three documentaries on the themes of prison (No one cries for me), self-production and the horticultural society (Vita nel campo), the management of mountain areas and immigration (La Regola)
Our first objective for 2014 has been to enhance the artistic and cultural heritage of our cities, focusing on social and environmental issues. For more information on upcoming workshops visit our blog (Italian version only).
